Every year we organise a community day, with a focus on improving our environment and engaging with topics and issues of local interest. In the morning we get together to clean up litter in our streets. Volunteeers are rewarded with a special lunch in St Richard’s Hall. In the afternoon we usually organise activities on a theme of particular local interest.
Community Day 2019 is on Saturday July 6.
Programme for the Day
10.00 – Cleaning our streets: meet at St Richard’s Hall, Swallowfield Road, where you will be allocated to teams to tidy up part of our area – usually one or two streets per group. We will provide, courtesy of RBG, gloves, hi-viz jackets, litter picking tools and binbags.
12.30 – Free Lunch for all volunteers
1.30 onwards – Focus on Health and Wellbeing:
- 1.30-2.30: Charlton Athletic – CAFC Community Involvement Team will be on hand at the hall with their Healthy Living Interactive Session – try new age curling and soft archery!
- 2.30-3.30: Royal Borough of Greenwich – RBG’s Public Health & Wellbeing Service will be offering free Active for Health Taster Sessions aimed at adult members – a little line dancing, strength exercises, balance and stretching!
CCRA are hoping to offer some regular health and wellbeing activities and will gauge what members would like from these sessions. Please support us in this new venture for our community.
