Every year we organise a community day, with a focus on improving our environment and engaging with topics and issues of local interest. In the morning we get together to clean up litter in our streets. Volunteers are rewarded with a special lunch in St Richard’s Hall. In the afternoon we usually organise activities on a theme of particular local interest.
Community Day 3rd July 2021
Our much anticipated Community Day brought us together as a community with a focus on meeting for a tidy-up of our streets followed by an Art, Craft and Jumble Trail in the afternoon. It was an opportunity to bring local residents together after a tough time for all.

Cleaning up in the morning
10.30-12.30 – Tidying up our streets
10.30am Meet at St Richard’s Hall. We start the day with our special clean up session where we show some special TLC to our roads, by sweeping, tidying, litter picking and trimming of CCRA greened plots. Some equipment will be supplied by RBG‘s Waste and Street Services but you can also bring along your own. Why not get together with your neighbours to do a tidy up of your street, or that piece of land on the corner of your road. It is great to get involved and we welcome all – young and old. It would be helpful if you let us know you are coming by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org but we also welcome those who turn up on the day, members of CCRA and those who are not.
12.30 This is followed by a yummy lunch at St Richards’s Hall for all the volunteers who helped tidy the area. Any relevant COVID restrictions will be in place.
A great new event for CCRA that we hope all members, and other local residents, will take part in as a seller or a buyer. Please encourage family and friends to attend.
A Trail is where residents in a particular area set up stalls in their front garden selling art, crafts, bric-a-brac, clothes, plants, toys, food, books, furniture, kitchen utensils, teapots etc and more. Bargain hunters from the area, and beyond hopefully, navigate their own trail through the streets using a map available on the day (electronically and in paper form) that shows all the participating houses.
CCRA promotes the event through marketing across social media, local leafleting and map production on the day. Any money left over will be put into CCRA funds.
To register your stall the costs are:
- CCRA Member £4.00
- Non-member £8.00 with membership of CCRA for rest of 2021
- Non-member £6.00 without membership of CCRA for rest of 2021
We are also looking for a Trail Champion in each of the CCRA roads. This person would be the point of contact for that road for other sellers, give out maps on the day and deliver leaflets in the road if required. If interested the stall fee would be waived and you would be helping to bring the community together. This is subject to availability.
Complete the online event Registration form here to book a stall or register to be a Trail Champion. Details of how to pay are on the form. A useful guidance sheet will be given to all who have a stall on confirmation of payment.
If you would prefer a paper Registration Form, or would like to know more about the event, or being a Trail Champion, contact Jacqui (Membership Secretary) on 07717742886 or by email at email@example.com
To register to receive an online map of participating addresses email firstname.lastname@example.org Paper maps will also be available on day.
