We are hoping to resume our exercise classes in the new year in St Richard’s Hall on Mondays from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. Provisional dates are:
First 6 week block: 1 Feb / 8 Feb / 15 Feb / 22 Feb / 1 March / 8 March
Second 6 week block: 15 March / 22 March / 29 March / 12 April / 19 April / 26 April (Omit 5th April which is Easter Monday)
Third 6 week block: 10 May / 17 May / 10 May / 24 May / 7 June / 14 June (Omit 3rd and 31st May which are Bank Holidays)
What do we do?
CCRA secured a council grant to fund a pilot scheme of 20 exercise sessions which we then continued ourselves. The activities take place for an hour on Monday mornings, between 11.30 and 12.30, and the hall will be open half an hour before and after (i.e. from 11.00 – 1.00), to allow some time for socialising and refreshments.
The sessions are led by Mandy Rawsthorne, and are designed for all ages and abilities but especially for women and men aged between 50 and 80. They were free until the end of the pilot period, though participants are expected to be members of associate members of CCRA.
CCRA has decided to keep these sessions running permanently, so there is now a small charge to cover the cost of hiring the hall and paying an instructor when the grant runs out.
