Walking Group
The CCRA Walking Group meets on the second Sunday of each month, usually at Charlton Station. Walks begin at 10.00am in the summer and 10.30am in the winter, and are generally within TfL travel zones.
Our walks are designed to be accessible and enjoyable, taken at a moderate pace and typically covering less than five miles. They are suitable for a range of abilities, with an emphasis on relaxed, sociable walking rather than endurance.
What to Expect
Each walk is outlined in the monthly email, including travel arrangements, terrain, points of interest, availability of public toilets, and places where drinks or takeaway food can be purchased. We always end at a café, pub, or similar venue for refreshments.
Walkers are advised to bring bottled water and any snacks they may need, and to wear clothing and sturdy footwear appropriate for the weather.
Important Information
- Everyone is welcome, but please note that you join the walk at your own risk and are responsible for deciding whether a particular walk is suitable for you.
- Please check the weather forecast before setting out and dress accordingly.
- If you need to leave the group during a walk, please inform Jill or ask someone to pass the message on.
- There is no charge for these walks.
As a CCRA activity, the Walking Group is open to members and non-members alike, and we’re always pleased to welcome new participants. If you’re not yet a member, we’d be delighted if you would consider joining.
