Dear Walkers,

Our next walk will be on Sunday, 9th March when, I’m pleased to say, Clive will join us again to lead the walk to Walthamstow, parts of Epping Forest and to God’s Own Junkyard, unfortunately we had to cancel this walk last December due to bad weather so, barring another Met. Office weather warning, we’ll make it this time!

We’ll meet at Charlton Station bus stop at 10.30 and take the 486 to North Greenwich (arriving about 10.50) then the Jubilee Line to Stratford and the Central Line to Snaresbrook. Where we’ll skirt parts of Epping Forest passing Eagle Pond, a pleasant, mostly flat walk and then on to God’s Own Junkyard – a most unusual museum of Neon.  The Rolling Stones Cafe, in the museum, is a good place for refreshments before heading off towards Walthamstow Village with its beautiful 15th century house and Alms Houses; we then return home by train to Liverpool Street and either the Elizabeth Line to Woolwich or bus to Stratford Station.

I’ll look forward to seeing you on the 9th, but just one small reminder – the April walk will be on the FIRST Sunday of the month, 6th April, not the usual second one, but more information later in March.
