An annual event to raise money for local charities, led by the CCRA singing group but open to all. Every year near the beginning of December we go round the streets in the CCRA area singing Christmas carols and making a collection for local charities. We are grateful to local residents who have been consistently generous with their donations.

CAROL SINGING, December 11 & 12, 2023
Total raised: £800

We followed what is now our usual practice of singing over two nights in 6 different locations in the CCRA area. We collected nearly £700 on the night and this was later augmented by an individual donation, so that we were able to make a donation of £800 to our chosen charity, the Greenwich Winter Night Shelter.  We are grateful to everyone who supported our efforts by donating so generously.

Some letters of appreciation:
Greenwich Foodbank (2018)
I want to thank you and your fellow residents for the generous contribution you have made towards the cost of Greenwich Foodbank. It is great to know that your organisation is supporting us. It is very reassuring that we are able to act as agents of the community to help our neighbours when they fall into difficulty, especially as none of us are immune from the challenges that life sometimes throws at us. Last year we were able to provide food support to more than 7500 people in Greenwich. To this we collected and distributed over 70 tonnes of food. Your support will help us to maintain this service this year, so we are thankful to you all. Thank you.
Charlton Toy Library (2016)
Thank you so very much to all of you at the Central Charlton Residents Association for the donation
of £285 raised from your Christmas Carol Singing. It is very kind of you to support us in this way. As you know we are an independent charity and we raise all our own funds from a variety of sources. Every penny counts and support of local organisations and businesses is much appreciated. In 2016 / 17 we supported 319 local families including 469 local children. Our mobile outreach project helped 146 disadvantaged and isolated families in Greenwich borough. We also provided volunteer opportunities for 23 local people.
