An annual event to raise money for local charities, led by the CCRA singing group but open to all. Every year near the beginning of December we go round the streets in the CCRA area singing Christmas carols and making a collection for local charities. We are grateful to local residents who have been consistently generous with their donations.
CAROL SINGING, DECEMBER 14 & 17, 2020
Current total raised: £500 plus online donations
Our annual fundraising event took a slightly different form this year. Groups of socially distanced singers sang over 2 evenings in a total of 4 locations. The singing was live-streamed on the CCRA facebook page (where you can still watch us!) and we encouraged people to donate online, though we also had a collection bucket with us. The weather on our first evening was wet and unwelcoming, but our second evening was graced with fine weather which enabled people to come out and join us, from a safe distance. We are very pleased to say that so far we have raised £450 for Greenwich Food Bank, and this total does not include whatever online donations people have made. It does, however, include one very generous donation of £100 for which we are most grateful.
It is not too late to make your donation – please see the details below, and thank you to everyone – the singers and helpers who took part in the event, and the people who donated so generously.

Money raised since 2012
2014 – Greenwich Foodbank (£240)
of £285 raised from your Christmas Carol Singing. It is very kind of you to support us in this way. As you know we are an independent charity and we raise all our own funds from a variety of sources. Every penny counts and support of local organisations and businesses is much appreciated. In 2016 / 17 we supported 319 local families including 469 local children. Our mobile outreach project helped 146 disadvantaged and isolated families in Greenwich borough. We also provided volunteer opportunities for 23 local people.
