Welcome to Charlton Central Residents’ Association!

We are a friendly residents’ association based in Charlton SE7 in South-East London.  We were established in 2007 and have been going from strength to strength ever since.  We are proud of our history and optimistic about our future. For more information about any of our events, activities and groups, please contact us at chair@charltonresidents.net.

Coming up…

On Saturday 11 April 2026, we’re hosting Strictly Charlton at St Richard’s Church Centre on Swallowfield Road. It’ll be an evening of dancing and glamour, with expert tuition and a chance to strut your stuff!

EVENTS

Spring social

In April we hold our spring social. Previously we’ve held a ceilidh dance, games cafe and Quizingo. This year, it’s Strictly Charlton!

Community Day

Every July, we celebrate our community through fun summertime events, which have in recent years included arts, crafts and jumble trails.

Flower, Produce & Craft Show

In September, we hold our very popular Flower, Produce and Craft Show, judged by our friends from the Blackheath and Greenwich WI.

AGM / Quiz Night

October sees us hold our members AGM, followed by our fun and ever popular, fiendish Quiz Night.

Christmas Fayre

December’s Christmas Fayre showcases local stallholders. We have games, mince pies, mulled wine and community carol singing.

Concerts

We also hold occasional concerts, bringing together local musicians. In recent years, we had a concert to raise funds for Ukraine.

ACTIVITIES

Singing Group

Meets fortnightly,  there is no audition process but it is not necessary for everyone to attend every session.

Walking Group

The walking group meets monthly and caters for a wide range of abilities. Walks are usually less than 5 miles.

Exercise Class

Meets weekly at St Richard’s Church Centre on Swallowfield Road. Sessions take place every Monday, 11.00-1.00.

GROUPS

Planning Action Group

Considers planning applications of local interest and makes representations on behalf of our community to the Council.

Community Safety Group

Works with Charlton Central Neighbourhood Watch and our local Safer Neighbourhood Ward Panel to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.

Our Newsletter, Grapevine

We publish our popular local newsletter, Grapevine, four times a year (March, June, September and December). Grapevine is distributed to 800 households in our area.  It is also supplied to local businesses in Charlton Village and Charlton railway station. Click here for the most recent edition of Grapevine. And if you’re interested in joining other local businesses advertising in Grapevineclick here for our rate card.

And if there’s something you’d like us to print in the next edition – or if you yourself would like to write for us, please contact us at grapevine@charltonresidents.net.

ABOUT CCRA

ADVOCACY

We have a long track record of successfully advocating on behalf of our community.  We scrutinise planning applications.  We also have strong links with Charlton Central Neighbourhood Watch, supporting neighbours when they are having problems with crime or anti-social behaviour.  And we regularly lobby on all of the issues that matter to our community to the Council, the Police and our local MP. Contact us at chair@charltonresidents.net.

But everyone is welcome to get involved, whether they live in these roads or not.
