CCRA Singing and Instrumental Music Groups  update:

Both groups are taking a break from regular music-making while Chris goes in for hip
replacement surgery. The singing group had its last session on March 10, while SE7 had a
successful evening at Cattleya on Feb 23. Although it is not possible to give a definite date
when the groups will resume activities, we hope to be back singing and playing at some time
in the summer. Any news on this will be sent out through the usual channels.

Information about the CCRA Singing Group

The singing group was formed in 2008 and is open to anyone in the CCRA area. There is no audition process, and no need to read music. We meet fortnightly, but it is not necessary for everyone to attend every session as the focus is on singing for enjoyment rather than rehearsing for performance.

Singing at a CCRA Christmas Social

The repertoire is largely chosen by members of the group and has included popular songs, folk songs, madrigals, rounds and songs from different cultural traditions. We have given a few public performances, mainly at CCRA socials but also at other local events.

One of our regular activities is to go carol singing in December around our neighbourhood, raising money for local charities.  Since 2012 we have raised over £2000 for a number of different charitable organisations.
